Carving out work at home space
While there are many pros to working from home, one of the cons is going
stir crazy by being in the same place all day and night. The novelty of
working from home can wear off and then when you spend a week straight in the same
room, you may start to want a job not from home.
One way to give yourself a better work at home environment is to carve out
space in your home that is your home office. Make a point to make this
office a good work from home environment with a phone line, computer,
internet connection, desk, pictures, file cabinets, and other office supplies.
Make sure that you leave this area at the end of your work day and spend time in
another area of your home. That way, your work at home area is all about
business and then the other areas of your home you can use for your leisure space.
Obviously, the more square footage you have in your home, the easier it is
to carve out a dedicated space for your working from home. But nevertheless,
if you are creative with your space, you can have a work environment that
allows you to separate business from leisure.
